School buses, race cars, and stunt planes: Around the world, people inform, advertise, and beautify with graphic films from ORAFOL. The brand that makes numerous applications possible is called ORACAL. How the brand enables creativity and evokes emotions is demonstrated through a journey across the world of ORACAL in three stations.

ORACAL Stands for Creativity

ORACAL is ORAFOL's product brand under which the wide range of self-adhesive graphic films is offered on the global market. The most significant areas of application are advertising technology and vehicle wrapping – with the product range divided into two main categories: plotter films for lettering and logos on all conceivable surfaces, and car wrapping films specifically for complete vehicle wraps.

ORACAL Shapes Our Everyday Life:

On Vehicles and at Train Stations
When a vehicle displays a logo or company name, ORACAL comes into play: the truck of a supermarket chain, a tile layer's van, or a car-sharing vehicle in a major city. Complete wraps, like the egg-shell yellow that transforms a normal car into a taxi in Germany, are made with ORACAL specialty films from ORAFOL.

In Hospitals and on Devices
All large buildings, such as hospitals, administrative offices, or universities, must help people find their way around. Wall, floor, and door signage are implemented with ORACAL films, as are operating instructions, warnings, and markings on machines and devices.

In Offices and Hotels
Glass decoration films are becoming increasingly popular for interior design. Modern office buildings and conference hotels use translucent walls or room dividers in their interiors. ORACAL films serve as privacy screens or design elements – or simply as stylish wall art.

On Shop Windows and Streetcars
ORACAL is used wherever permanent or temporary advertising appears: shop windows, kiosks, and on city buses and trains.

How is the ORACAL brand doing in Germany?
We are the established market leader here, especially for advertising technology films. While we're now facing stronger competition from East Asia, we maintain our lead through quality. Our customers confirm this as well.

What do German customers like about ORACAL?
Above all this: Sign makers love that our films are easy to apply and remove, and that we offer a wide range of products for different surfaces and applications. We also surprise them with innovations like new colors or effects.

Which use of ORACAL do you personally like best?
I also like the small things: stickers and decals for soccer fans or fans of a particular band. I think it's really cool that the tape art movement uses ORACAL. This is an art form that creatively designs buildings and surfaces. There are some amazing projects out there!

ORACAL in India

How is the ORACAL brand doing in India?
ORACAL is considered a premium brand in many segments and industries and is highly sought after. Although ORAFOL has only been present in India since around 2010, most of our customers have known the brand from before, as they imported our films themselves. They find it strange that our company isn't called ORACAL, but ORAFOL.

What do Indian customers like about ORACAL?
The outstanding quality, for example in terms of color. The Indian market is growing rapidly, and there are constantly new market participants in all industries – whether rickshaw taxis, retail, or automotive. That's why our customers want to stand out from the competition and therefore opt for high-class advertising solutions like ORACAL.

Which use of ORACAL do you personally like best?
I'm always happy when I see a school bus. All school buses in India are required by law to have a brown stripe on the sides – ORACAL Nut Brown 641.

ORACAL in Australia

How is the ORACAL brand doing in Australia?
We've only been strong in the Australian market for a short time. In recent years, we've taken significant market share from the two main competitors, so now we're a trio on equal footing. The fact that we're a German brand helped us, as Australians value German quality.

What do Australian customers like about ORACAL?
Clearly the quality and durability. We also score points with direct sales without middlemen. Recently, we opened a training center for customers – the Creative Hub – where we show how to best use our products. This close customer support is well received.

Which use of ORACAL do you personally like best?
Last year, a Red Bull stunt plane was completely wrapped with ORACAL. The material was selected to withstand extreme accelerations and speeds of 250 miles per hour – and still look outstanding during low-altitude flights. Pretty cool!
