MODERN, SUCCESSFUL, SUSTAINABLE

A representative corporate headquarters for ORAFOL

Our corporate headquarters in Oranienburg has grown steadily over the years to become a large industrial complex. With the erection of many new buildings, such as the main administration building and the new production halls, the area has gained a consistent architecture and modern work spaces, which reflect our success and improve our wellbeing at work. And they also demonstrate to our guests, customers and partners that ORAFOL places great emphasis on quality and excellence. Dr. Holger Loclair pays particular attention to the grounds, whose landscaping he always designs himself.

ORANIENBURG, HEADQUARTERS OF THE ORAFOL GROUP

Think that industrial complexes have to be impersonal, overly practical and unattractive? In recent years, the large headquarters of tech companies in Silicon Valley, USA have demonstrated exactly the opposite. And we’re proving it in Oranienburg, too: With the erection of many new buildings, the campus of the ORAFOL headquarters has gained a consistent architecture and modern work spaces. We are creating a uniform, beautiful industrial complex where we want to spend time and where we feel comfortable and able to do our best work. The uniform architecture also symbolizes the cohesion and closeness within our family-run business. And it illustrates our quality standards and the good reputation that ORAFOL and our products enjoy around the world.

A uniform architecture with recurring materials builds bridges between the individual departments.

The architects from the firm Gerkan, Marg und Partner (gmp) were tasked with designing the new face of our headquarters. The basic idea was to use recurring materials throughout the buildings in order to give the campus architecture a uniform look. To that end, accents of clinker bricks are added to our concrete facades at entrances, on stairs and over certain areas of the facade. This creates a uniform and appealing overall look, rather than a run-of-the-mill industrial complex that looks like it was thrown together. Instead, the campus becomes a place where everything and everyone belong together.

OVERVIEW OF OUR ORAFOL PREMISES. THE AREAS MARKED IN RED ARE IN THE PLANNING STAGE.

For Dr. Loclair, our corporate headquarters is our best salesperson: “The design of the campus reflects the high-quality standards that ORAFOL applies to its portfolio and services.”

In 2018, the architecture firm kicked off the new construction and renovations with the main administration building. Since then, existing buildings have been remodeled and redesigned, and the new halls have been drafted and built. And since we are always evolving, we see no end to this process. By 2024 we will have invested 160 million euros in our headquarters alone, and we will continue to apply this uniform architecture to all future construction projects.

Beautifully designed grounds as green oases between industrial buildings

The task of landscaping and designing the plants and flowerbeds is reserved for the boss. In choosing his designs, Dr. Loclair draws inspiration from the beautiful Havelland region in which we live. Dr. Loclair is convinced that it’s not just the architecture that makes people feel at ease, but also the grounds and outdoor spaces. Trees, bushes and grassy areas become green oases and quiet refuges between work spaces, acting as fun places to take breaks while also providing habitats for birds and insects. Our many green spaces are even part of our sustainability strategy, since together with energy-efficient buildings and environmentally friendly mobility options, they help to reduce the ecological footprint of our headquarters.
