Micro- and nanostructured optical components
Our micro- and nanostructured optical components can be found in the most various markets and applications. New and high-performing plastic materials, improvements in polymer processing technolgies and the acceptance of plastics as an alternative to glass have contributed to this development.
We supply customers in Europe, Asia, North and South America. Our optical components are used in the photonic market segments lighting, display, solar, automotive, optical sensors and industrial image processing.
Microstructured polymer optics are often used in image processing applications. They allow for extremely compact as well as lightweight designs and can thus be manufactured as high-aperture and large sized elements. We are technically able to mold parts up to a size of 1m².
Our product range includes not only fresnel lenses, cylindrical fresnel lenses but also reflective corner cube retro-reflectors. We offer a large variety of standard lenses. But customized designs are also possible.
Our polymer optical components are ideally suitable for use in sensor applications. Different polymer processing technologies enable us to fabricate optics of high precision and very good, contour accuracy as well as low stress birefringence. This applies both to microstructured parts and for non-structured parts.
Depending on customer requirements, we are able to realize different shapes and thicknesses, to use materials with specific filter properties and to apply coatings.
Our product spectrum ranges from small fresnel lenses, to sophisticated optical windows up to reflective optics for use in light barriers. Beyond this we offer the design and the fabrication of customized optical components.
Depending on customer requirements, we realize optical components for light control and distribution, for glare control and homogenization.
We have a large product portfolio of standard optics and also offer the design and fabrication of customized optics. This includes the design of light guides and the creation of lens arrays. In addition to this we can aluminize our optics and cut each part to virtually any shape required.
Beyond different polymer materials, we offer the manufacture hybrid optics based on Silicone-on-Glass (SOG). Those parts are particularly suitable for outdoor applications.
For display applications we offer the customized development and fabrication of light guides for uniform illumination with a high lumen yield. For decoupling light we use different scattering patterns, e.g. fine surface structures or printed dot pattern. It is possible to manufacture plano components as well as wedge-shaped parts. Thicknesses and dimensions can be adjusted as per the customer requirement.
Beyond this we offer laminating processes and are able to assemble complete backlight modules under clean-room conditions.
We provide optical elements and components employed in High-Concentrating PV (HCPV), Low Concentrating PV (LCPV) and Concentrating Solar Thermal (CST) applications. In close collaboration with our global partners we custom design and manufacture concentrating lenses and lens systems that meet specific system requirements.
Made from acrylic or as Silicone-on-Glass (SOG), we provide circular and linear concentrating single lenses and lens arrays of different thicknesses and in dimensions that can exceed one square meter.
Our SOG-components are certified according to IEC 62108.
