Oranienburg, October 21, 2025 – Catherine Loclair, Senior Vice President of Corporate & Legal Affairs at ORAFOL, has been appointed by the Government of Brandenburg to the State Higher Education Council of Brandenburg. This volunteer advisory body provides strategic guidance for the development of the state’s higher education system and advises the government on key higher education policy issues.
Commenting on her appointment, Catherine Loclair said:

Many of the researchers and engineers who studied at Brandenburg’s universities now contribute their expertise at ORAFOL, playing a vital role in our international competitiveness. I look forward to bringing this practical experience to the State Higher Education Council and working with the council to explore ways in which education and industry can collaborate on future challenges."

About Catherine Loclair
Catherine Loclair is a member of the executive team at the ORAFOL Group. She joined the company in 2005 as counsel and took over responsibility for human resources in 2010. Since 2021, she has served as Senior Vice President of Corporate & Legal Affairs, additionally overseeing occupational safety, sustainability, and compliance. She is a licensed attorney specializing in labor law, commercial and corporate law, as well as trademark and competition law. Catherine Loclair is part of the family that owns the internationally active company based in Oranienburg.
About the State Higher Education Council of Brandenburg
The State Higher Education Council of Brandenburg (LHR) is an independent, externally appointed advisory body. It oversees the development of the state’s higher education system and provides recommendations on strategic planning, structural improvements, and cross-cutting future topics. The council also appoints members to selection committees for university presidents and supports the work of university ethics committees. Every two years, the council reports its activities to the state government, the parliament, and the public universities. The council currently has 18 members, serving four-year terms with the possibility of reappointment.
