New reflective flame retardant tape for the industrial wash market

30 Nov 2015

At the recent A+A show in Düsseldorf, ORAFOL successfully introduced a new flame retardant glass bead tape, aimed at the industrial wash market – ORALITE® GP 097.

Jean-Philippe Roy, Business Development Manager for ORAFOL’s Reflective Solutions Personal Safety Divison, says, “In recent years we are seeing far more end user requests for multi-functional garments, i.e. garments which do not only fulfil the basic high-vis requirements, but which are also for instance flame retardant and/or suitable for industrial wash. Another strong trend we are seeing is the requirement for lighter garments. Years ago, a lot of the high-vis garments seen in the market place tended to be rather heavy, and this is certainly something which the end users are moving away from.“

He continues, “With the new ORALITE® GP 097 the aim has been to meet not just one but ALL of the above market requirements. We have here a lightweight glass bead tape, which is heat applied onto the garment for extra comfort. The tape has flame retardant properties, and is suitable for industrial washing. And it is of course fully approved to EN ISO 20471:2013 Separate Performance, EN 469:2005 and ISO 14116:2008. The initial introduction at the A+A was a great success, and we truly expect a lot from this product in upcoming months.”

The ORALITE® GP 097 is supplied in 50 mm x 100 m rolls.
